For the largest network operators, the promise of NFV cannot be realized without carrier-grade virtual infrastructure management. Working collaboratively with customers and technology partners, NEC has pioneered a wide variety of OpenStack extensions to achieve carrier-grade performance and reliability. In this session, we will discuss the importance of continued innovation in making OpenStack ready for the most demanding service provider networks. Our speaker will highlight several of NEC’s critical OpenStack advancements, including data plane acceleration, hardware failure detection and cluster-aware deployment, among other features. Based on key learnings from several high-profile use cases, the session will also include recommendations for future advancement of carrier-grade OpenStack.
