Backport or Upgrade? OpenStack Releases Unchained

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

OpenStack has six months of release cycle which includes fix for many bugs and many cool features. In general, we try to stick to one particular release or apply custom changes for specific use cases. Sometimes, we tend to backport changes for minor bugs. Have you ever thought of running services from different releases instead of backporting, upgrading, or applying custom changes? At Symantec, we are running mix of IceHouse, Juno, Kilo for our production platform. Join us to find out how.

In this talk, we will discuss:

  • Test and verification process

  • Feature compatibility of Juno Keystone with IceHouse Horizon and Nova

  • API Compatibility with Nova (Juno Keystone V3 API with IceHouse Nova V2)

  • Utilizing Keystone V2 tokens with V3 API

  • Nova’s ability to handle different object Schema version

  • Kilo Swift with Juno Keystone
